Editorial policy

The standards every Finlytics article is held to, whoever or whatever drafted it.

Last updated 13 September 2026

Accuracy and sources

Articles are based on primary sources wherever one exists: circulars and press releases from the Reserve Bank of India, orders and circulars from SEBI, notifications from the Government of India and its departments, and the published rules of exchanges, NPCI and fund houses. Every article lists the sources it relies on. News reports by other publications may alert us to a story, but we check the underlying document and write in our own words.

Review before publication

Nothing is published until a named reviewer has read it against its sources and approved it. The reviewer's name appears on the article.

How we use AI

Some news briefs are drafted with the help of an AI system, working only from the official announcement they describe. Every such draft is checked against that source and approved by a person before publication, and the article says it was prepared this way. AI does not publish anything on its own, and it is not used to write fraud guides or explainers without the same review.

Education, not advice

We explain how financial products, rules and risks work. We do not recommend buying, selling or holding any security or product, we do not make predictions about prices, and we do not use recent market prices in teaching examples. Illustrations use round, made-up numbers.

Keeping articles current

Rates, limits and rules change. Articles show when they were published, and when they were last updated if that was meaningfully later. Explainers are reviewed periodically and whenever a rule they describe changes.

Corrections

When we get something wrong we fix it promptly and, if the error was material, add a note to the article saying what changed and when. See corrections to report one.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made on what readers need to know. If Finlytics ever carries advertising or partnerships, they will be clearly labelled and kept separate from articles, and they will never decide what an article says.
